Desperation

I find it funny how every time a blessing has entered my life, it has been at a point where I was not looking for it at all. Even more, this effect seems to be causal: many blessings come right after I stop actively looking for them. Desperation seems to be a repelling force.

This is contradictory, but I think it is an important fact of nature. At least in human relationships, it is easy to sense when someone is desperate, and this almost always gives off a negative impression. And at a meta-level, it seems like when you find yourself really wanting something, the best course of action is to become content with a life without it. Not wanting something is the same as having it.
